Surat Na Vighneshwar
Devotion, tradition and grandeur in the heart of Surat
The mandal
Surat Na Vighneshwar is a Ganesh Utsav Mandal that organises the Ganesh Chaturthi utsav at Surat, Gujarat, India. The mandal is run by volunteers from the neighbourhood — families who take on the mandap, the daily aartis, the prasad, the cultural evenings and the visarjan procession.
The ten days
Work begins months before the festival, in the workshop where the idol is shaped and painted. On the first day the murti is carried to the mandap and installed. For the ten days that follow there is aarti every morning and evening, darshan through the day, cultural programmes in the evenings, and seva work run alongside. On the last day the murti is taken in procession for visarjan.
The home page follows that order, and the archive keeps each year separately.
Booking a place
Aarti and darshan are open to everyone. Places are booked in advance only because the mandap holds a fixed number of people at a time and the committee would rather allot slots than turn devotees away at the gate. Where a fee is charged, it goes towards the running of the utsav.
- Book an aarti — named morning, evening and special slots.
- Book a darshan window — a set time for your family to visit.
- Join the mandal — ₹501.00 for Festival Year 2026.
How the utsav is funded
The utsav runs on membership contributions, booking fees and voluntary donations from the community. Payments made on this website are collected through PayU and go to the mandal's own account. Our terms, refund policy and privacy policy set out exactly how bookings, refunds and personal information are handled.
